Royal Canin announces formula just for pugs

27th August 2009

Royal Canin, provider of pet nutrition products, has announced the availability of a food designed specifically for pugs.

The diet has been customized by Royal Canin specifically to cater for the unique nutritional needs of the breed. According to the firm, its 25(TM) diet for pugs over ten months old is the most nutritionally complete diet available for the canines.

When it comes to pugs, the company states, nutrition is a primary concern, as their unique jaw shape and wrinkly skin means they have a tendency to become overweight.

Featuring a “kibble” shape, the new product can be easily grasped by pugs and contain balanced amounts of both protein and fats to promote a healthy body weight.

Davenport, Canine Brand Manager at the organisation, explained: “Pugs are not like any other small dog. Their physiology is truly unique.”

Royal Canin recently launched a competition offering visitors to its new Facebook page the chance to win a month’s free supply of its dog and cat food.
