Royal Canin offered as a prize by Marks and Spencer

19th October 2009

Royal Canin pet food will be awarded to the lucky winners of a Marks and Spencer competition next year, it has been announced.

The retailer has launched a competition that will see anyone signing up for or renewing the terms of its pet insurance policy before December 31st 2009 automatically entered into a prize draw to win a year’s supply of Royal Canin pet food.

Overall, there will be six prizes of Royal Canin dry pet food awarded for one cat or one dog for one calendar year.

This announcement follows the results of a survey conducted by the Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association, which found that 90 per cent of pet owners are concerned about giving their furry friends good-quality and healthy foods.

Charles Sweeney from Bestpet Pharmacy explained: “Obesity is an increasing problem among cats and dogs. Pets that carry too much weight can suffer from heart complaints, diabetes and arthritis.”

Last month, Royal Canin sponsored the third annual Take the Lead walk, which was organised by the Animal Cancer Trust and saw four dog walks take place in the UK for charity.
