RPSGB appoints new Scottish director

17th August 2010

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) has announced the appointment of pharmacy expert Alex MacKinnon as its director for Scotland.

Mr MacKinnon will take up his role at the industry body on October 4th 2010, moving over from his current position as head of corporate affairs at Community Pharmacy Scotland.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr MacKinnon stated that he will be looking to promote the needs of the pharmaceutical and pharmacy sectors at the highest level, continuing the work of predecessor Lyndon Braddick.

RPSGB chief executive Helen Gordon stated that the new director's experience in the field will make him a valuable asset to the organisation.

She explained: "His experience of contract negotiation and public affairs skills will be invaluable in developing services for members."

This comes after Steve Churton was re-elected as president of the RPSGB in June 2010 at a meeting of the organisation's council.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800027714-ADNFCR
