Sanofi agrees new alliance on real-world data use

23rd June 2011

Sanofi has entered into a new alliance that will allow it to make greater use of real-world evidence in new product development.

A global agreement has been signed with Medco Health Solutions and its subsidiary United BioSource Corporation, allowing Sanofi to benefit from its new partners' expertise in real-world evidence generation, comparative effectiveness analytics and clinical and adherence support.

Over the course of a multi-year collaboration, Sanofi will utilise this information to define the value of its developmental products and identify which patient groups they would benefit most.

It will allow the company to both maximise the value of its research and development activities, while offering the best possible outcomes for patients.

Jean-Pierre Lehner, chief medical officer of Sanofi, said: "We will make the leap from discovering and marketing new medicines to providing comprehensive healthcare solutions that are proven to drive safety, effectiveness and value for our stakeholders."

Earlier this month, the company announced another new collaboration with Audion Therapeutics, which will aim to create new treatment options for patients suffering from hearing loss.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800591527-ADNFCR
