Sanofi collaborates with DiCE Molecules on small molecule discovery

16th March 2016

Sanofi has announced it is working with DiCE Molecules to focus on small molecule discovery.

The five-year collaboration will see the two organisations work to discover potential new therapeutics for up to 12 targets pertaining to disease areas that are of interest to Sanofi.

Kevin Judice, president and chief executive officer of DiCE, commented: "In the past, targeting protein-protein interfaces with small molecules was not thought possible in a generalisable fashion, especially in the development of orally bioavailable drugs."

He stated that its platform, which leverages directed evolution to select and optimise low molecular weight compounds against any target, is "uniquely positioned to overcome these historical challenges".

Mr Judice went on to state that this partnership with Sanofi reinforces the potential of its technology.

He added that DiCE's self-financing business model and distinctive partnership approach will allow us to focus exclusively on advancing its development programs. ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801814693-ADNFCR
