Sanofi Pasteur welcomes new brochure on value of vaccines

Sanofi Pasteur has welcomed Vaccines Europe's publication of a new brochure that aims to highlight the fundamental contribution made by vaccination to public health.

The infographic lays out the case in favour of widespread vaccination programmes in a user-friendly format, highlighting the positive impact that vaccines can make on economic growth and social equity.

It was noted that presently, a certain amount of hesitancy and complacency towards disease is undermining the implementation of national immunisation programmes across Europe, leading to a recent rise in vaccine-preventable diseases.

As such, Vaccines Europe – founded in 1991 to represent major innovative research-based vaccine companies – is seeking to underline the fact that vaccination is one of the most cost-effective ways of preventing morbidity and mortality associated with several deadly diseases worldwide.

A statement from the company said: "The Vaccines Europe infographic, exclusively based on peer-reviewed publications, provides an effective tool to address the economic and financial dimension of the value of vaccines and immunisation programmes in Europe."
