Sara Lee discusses long-term growth plans

21st September 2009

Sara Lee’s chief executive officer Brenda Barnes has stated that the company plans to drive its long-term growth through a number of key strategies.

Ms Barnes made her comments in recent days at the organisation’s 2009 Meet the Management analyst meeting, where the firm’s areas of focus in its international business were also explored.

She explained that the key strategies for the enterprise include focusing resources in core geographies and categories, exiting non-core businesses, reducing costs, enhancing efficiency and expanding in high-growth markets.

Other members of the company’s management that spoke included Philippe Schaille, senior vice-president and chief marketing officer, executive vice-president and chief executive officer CJ Fraleigh and James Nolan, executive vice-president and chief executive officer of Fresh Bakery.

Earlier this month, the company launched a social media campaign – Mama Saga – that is designed to help mothers deal with typical challenges that they face at home on a daily basis.
