Sartorius confirms departure of chief financial officer in 2017

18th October 2016

Sartorius has announced that its chief financial officer (CFO) Jorg Pfirrmann will be departing the company midway through 2017 to pursue other professional opportunities.

Mr Pfirrmann, who is also a member of Sartorius' executive board, has informed the supervisory board that he will not be available for an extension of his contract, which would otherwise be up for renewal in July 2017.

He was originally appointed to the executive board in 2009 and has been credited with helping the company to significantly broaden its financing instruments, expand its global IT infrastructure and reorganise its HR functions.

The outgoing CFO was also involved in a number of acquisition projects and assisted in the implementation of the organisation's new division structure.

Mr Pfirrmann will stay in his current role to the end of his contract term to ensure a smooth transition. The search for a successor will commence soon.

Professor Dr Arnold Picot, chairman of the supervisory board of Sartorius, said: "We wish him all the best for both his personal and his professional future and are confident that we will maintain good relations after his departure."
