SCA names next chief financial officer

SCA has announced the appointment of Fredrik Rystedt as its next chief financial officer and executive vice-president, effective as of July 1st 2014.

He will take up his new position on this date to coincide with the retirement of the incumbent Lennart Persson, who is leaving the company after serving in various senior positions since 1987.

Mr Rystedt has extensive experience of the chief financial officer position at a variety of listed companies, with former employers including Electrolux, Sapa and Nordea. He joins SCA on March 1st 2014 and will immediately become a member of the corporate senior management team.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Mr Persson was praised for his contributions to the company, as well as his knowledge, professionalism and commitment.

President and chief executive officer Jan Johansson said: "Lennart has added significant value to SCA, particularly in our journey of change toward becoming a leading global hygiene and forest products company."

This comes after Johan Rydin was appointed as the firm's new group treasurer in September 2013, following the retirement of Carl-Axel Olson.
