Schering-Plough launches CLARITIN Eye antihistamine drops
Schering-Plough has introduced a new product to the market – CLARITIN Eye over-the-counter antihistamine eye drops.
The treatment, which works in a matter of minutes to relieve the eye itching sensation experienced by those with allergies, is strong enough relieve sufferers’ symptoms throughout the day and night.
It can be found in the eye care aisle of pharmacies and outlets selling over-the-counter treatments and just one drop can last for up to 12 hours.
John O’Mullane, group vice-president of research and development for Schering-Plough, said: “Itchy eyes are an extremely bothersome symptom for allergy sufferers and can be caused by indoor or outdoor allergens such as dust, pet dander, mold or pollen.”
Meanwhile, Schering-Plough revealed further positive news this week, with the confirmation that a merger between itself and Merck & Co has received approval from shareholders.
The restructuring is expected to be completed during the fourth financial quarter of 2009.
