Sempermed continues growth in first quarter

14th May 2010

Sempermed has enjoyed a strong first quarter of 2010 after experiencing a year-on-year increase in its three-month revenues.

According to parent group Semperit’s latest financial report, the medical equipment company has continued its recent strong performance by posting a first quarter revenue total of 73.3 million euros (62.9 million pounds), an increase of 8.8 per cent compared to Q1 2009.

This was attributed to Sempermed’s “good capacity utilisation and growth” in the last quarter, with the results coming after the business improved its revenues by 11.7 per cent over the course of last year.

Sempermed’s results helped the Semperit group as a whole to increase its overall revenue total by 3.7 per cent year-on-year, while earnings rose by 16.1 per cent.

It has predicted that its results for the 2010 full year will be “satisfactory”.

Earlier this year, Sempermed launched the new Sempercare Nitrile Skin2 gloves, which are designed for use by clinicians and are optimised for comfort and protection from pathogens.
