Shimadzu launches new gas chromatograph mass spectrometer
Shimadzu has announced the launch of a new gas chromatograph mass spectrometer which it describes as its most advanced ever.
The GCMS-QP2010 Ultra is a successor to the GCMS-QP2010 Plus and is designed to offer enhanced sensitivity and speed, thanks to its improved ion source and Advanced Scan Speed Protocol technology.
It is also optimised to offer increased efficiency, with an improved maintenance system which reduces downtime, as well as a new data acquisition technique which allows scan data and SIM data to be collected in a single analysis.
In addition to these benefits, the GCMS-QP2010 Ultra also provides an Ecology mode, allowing the unit to be placed in a standby setting with reduced power and carrier gas consumption.
Shimadzu said the system represents “the perfect instrument for Fast GC or comprehensive GC/MS (GCxGCMSq) analyses”.
Earlier this year, Shimadzu launched the LC-30A Nexera, a new ultra-high performance liquid chromatography system which is more versatile and accurate than previous models.
