Shire announces two changes to senior management team

22nd August 2017

Shire has announced a pair of changes to its executive committee, including the departure of its chief financial officer (CFO) Jeff Poulton.

Mr Poulton will be leaving Shire at the end of the year to take up the CFO at the start-up company Indigo. A formal search for a successor has already commenced, with Mr Poulton continuing in his current role while this is ongoing.

During this transition period, he will remain on the executive committee and on Shire's board of directors, as well as continuing to take part in the company's ongoing strategic review of its business.

Dr Flemming Ornskov, chief executive officer at Shire, said: "On behalf of all Shire employees, we are grateful to Jeff for his dedication and leadership and wish him the very best in his future endeavours."

Additionally, the firm has announced the appointment of Joanne Cordeiro as chief human resources officer and a member of the executive committee with immediate effect, taking over the role previously held by Ginger Gregory.

She has been with Shire since March 2011 and has been serving as interim head of human resources since March 2017.
