Shire to present new research data at APA annual meeting
Shire has announced that it will be presenting new medical research at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) annual meeting from May 14th to 18th.
The company will share its latest insights on binge-eating disorders (BED) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) during the meeting, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to furthering the understanding and management of psychiatric disorders.
Presentations include a talk on the value of the seven-item BED screening process currently in clinical practice and a look at prescription medication usage trends among these patients, as well as a lecture on medication use among commercially-insured adults with ADHD in the US.
Some of the findings shared in these presentations have been produced as part of a Shire-funded research partnership with scientists from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm.
Dr Barry Herman, global medical team lead and senior medical director at Shire, said: "These presentations underscore our longstanding commitment to furthering knowledge of psychiatric conditions and advancing research into the unmet needs of people with BED and ADHD."
