Siemens brings new automation functions to Dimension Vista 1500

Siemens has announced that its Dimension Vista 1500 Intelligent Lab System is being upgraded with additional automation options.

The company's device now offers compatibility with ADVIA Automation Solutions, a feature that allows clinical laboratories to customise their workflow solutions and improve productivity.

Using this new option, technicians will be able to process patient samples via a single, consolidated, high-volume workstation, while retaining the chemistry and immunoassay functionality of the Dimension Vista 1500 system.

It will also help to expand access to the new Centrifuge Module automation option for ADVIA.

David Hickey, executive vice-president for central laboratory and global research and development at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, said: "With the ability to connect the Dimension Vista 1500 System with ADVIA high-volume automation, laboratories can combine the best of both worlds – ultra integration with speed and efficiency."

Earlier this year, Siemens introduced a selection of new CE Mark-approved cancer diagnostic assays for use with the Dimension Vista system.
