Siemens Healthineers completes takeover of Fast Track Diagnostics

Siemens Healthineers has announced the completion of its previously-announced takeover of Fast Track Diagnostics, a molecular diagnostics company based in Luxembourg.

With the finalisation of this takeover, Siemens Healthineers has taken control of the company's sites in Luxembourg, Malta and India, as well as its 80-strong workforce. The Fast Track Diagnostics brand name will continue to operate.

The company offers a range of CE Mark-approved infectious disease detection tests and syndromic panels, which will add 85 assays and syndromic panels to Siemens Healthineers' Versant kPCR Molecular System menu.

These will include new molecular testing options for infectious diseases such as respiratory infections, gastroenteritis, meningitis, hepatitis, immunosuppression-related infections, tropical diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, and early childhood diseases.

Fernando Beils, head of molecular diagnostics at Siemens Healthineers, said: "The closing of this deal enables both Siemens Healthineers and Fast Track Diagnostics – now joined as one – to more effectively address the evolving needs of the molecular diagnostics marketplace."
