Siemens Healthineers extends contracts of top managers

10th April 2017

Siemens Healthineers has announced that the contracts of its three top managers are to be extended.

Bernd Montag, Thomas Rathmann and Michael Reitermann have been handed for five-year contract extensions, effective from April 1st, as the company's supervisory board is looking to ensure long-term continuity and stability.

These contracts are being extended ahead of schedule, reflecting the board's confidence in their leadership and the future prospects of the Siemens Healthineers business, as well as aiding future succession planning.

Joe Kaeser, president and chief executive officer of Siemens, said: "Bernd Montag and his colleagues have set the course for success in healthcare technology. The goal now is to expand Healthineers' outstanding position on the global market and further strengthen its business."

The division of Siemens took on the Siemens Healthineers branding in May 2016, a move that was followed by the later decision to publicly list the organisation to give it greater flexibility in implementing its growth plans

These come as part of broader efforts to functionally transform the business into a semi-independent entity, which will strengthen its credentials as an industry leader.
