Siemens Healthineers launches new Mammomat Revelation imaging system

Siemens Healthineers has announced the launch of Mammomat Revelation, its newest premium mammography system.

The system offers 50-degree 3D HD breast tomosynthesis capabilities, allowing suspicious areas to be targeted with a single click with great accuracy, while also facilitating the immediate control of biopsies directly at the mammography system.

Additionally, Mammomat Revolution makes it possible for breast density measurements to be taken automatically at the point of examination, allowing for personalised risk stratification and necessary adjunct imaging exams to be triggered before the patient leaves.

Another key advantage of the system is its Personalised Soft Compression approach, which allows the breast compression process to be softened and the compression force to be automatically and individually adjusted, leading to better breast positioning and a more consistent image quality.

Lars Hofmann, head of marketing for the X-ray products business line at Siemens Healthineers, said: "As discomfort is a key reason for a woman to avoid mammography exams, we are improving their imaging experience with our Personalised Soft Compression."

The system will be made commercially available in the first half of 2018.
