Siemens Healthineers names new chief financial officer

20th November 2017

Siemens Healthineers has announced the appointment of Jochen Schmitz as its new chief financial officer, effective as of December 1st.

Mr Schmitz, the current head of accounting, reporting and controlling for the broader Siemens group, has been named as the successor to Thomas Rathmann, who is leaving Siemens Healthineers by mutual agreement.

Having commenced his Siemens career in financial controlling, Mr Schmitz was appointed head of performance controlling for the healthcare business in 2004, and subsequently served as chief financial officer for a number of units within the organisation.

Following this promotion, Jurgen Wagner – currently head of financial disclosure and corporate performance controlling – will succeed Mr Schmitz as Siemens' head of accounting, reporting and controlling.

Michael Sen, chairman of the supervisory board of Siemens Healthineers, said: "With the appointment of Jochen Schmitz, we're rounding out our extremely experienced management team, which will lead Healthineers into a strong future."

This appointment represents a step towards the public listing of Siemens Healthineers, which is planned to take place in 2018.
