Siemens Healthineers selected as Bayern Munich’s medical solutions partner

Siemens Healthineers has announced a new three-year partnership with German football giants Bayern Munich.

From July 1st 2017 to June 30th 2020, Siemens Healthineers will serve as an official partner of the Bundesliga winners, serving as its designated medical solutions partner. As part of this, it will equip the team's training area and Allianz Arena stadium with the latest ultrasound and X-ray systems.

This will help to protect players through medical checkups and post-injury recoveries, with mobile applications helping to oversee health issues when the team is in transit.

Among the provided equipment will be the Acuson P500 and Acuson NX3 ultrasound sets, with X-ray imaging to be performed using the Cios Fusion and Multix Fusion Max systems in the case of acute injuries or postsurgical aftercare.

The contract also includes routine servicing of the team's medical equipment by Siemens Healthineers for the duration of the three-year term.

Dr Bernd Montag, chief executive officer of Siemens Healthineers, said: "We already have longstanding cooperation in place with the medical department of FC Bayern Munich in the area of medical technology. The official partnership contract now seals this close collaboration."
