Siemens launches new Aptio Automation platform
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has introduced Aptio Automation, a new laboratory automation platform that aims to maximise productivity for life science facilities.
Unveiled at the 2012 American Association for Clinical Chemistry and American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science Annual Meetings and Clinical Lab Expo in Los Angeles last week, the new system is designed to be adaptable to a variety of testing environments.
Its circular track and modular design offers versatile usage, while it also provides connectivity with Siemens' complete portfolio of automation-ready analysers, thus facilitating a multidisciplinary analytical approach.
Dave Hickey, chief executive officer for the chemistry, immunoassay, automation and diagnostics IT business unit at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, said: "Aptio Automation represents our latest innovation and vision for how we can help laboratories keep pace in this challenging environment and address their most pressing business and clinical demands."
Other devices showcased by Siemens at the recent expo include the CentraLink Data Management System, Sysmex CA-600 Systems and Clinitek Novus Automated Urine Chemistry Analyser.
