Sigma-Aldrich agrees supply deal with Research Councils UK

15th September 2010

Sigma-Aldrich is to supply oligonucleotides to Research Councils UK after agreeing a new three-year deal.

The company's Sigma Life Sciences division has been contracted as a preferred supplier for synthetic oligonucleotides, building on its prior relationship as a provider of oligonucleotides for the Medical Research Council.

This deal will allow Research Councils UK to take advantage of Sigma Life Sciences' broad product range and robust production capacity, as well as the fast delivery times enabled by its manufacturing presence in Haverhill, near Cambridge.

Michael Harris, managing director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions for Sigma-Aldrich, said the expansion of the contract is a testament to the quality of the company's services.

He added: "This new agreement is expected to enable additional Research Councils UK researchers to access Sigma's products, as well as allow Sigma Life Science to consolidate its relationship with Research Councils UK."

Earlier this month, Sigma Life Sciences announced that it will be entering the genetically modified cell market with a new range of products for use in pharmaceuticals research.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800065913-ADNFCR
