Sigma-Aldrich and Public Health England agree cell culture alliance

15th April 2013

Sigma-Aldrich has agreed a deal with Public Health England that will allow the company to participate in the distribution of human and animal cell cultures for research purposes.

The Culture Collections of Public Health England curate the European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC), a range of unique, expertly preserved and authenticated cells that will now be offered through Sigma-Aldrich's website.

Sigma Life Sciences and Public Health England will continue to jointly distribute ECACC cell lines in the UK, with the former organisation gaining exclusive global distribution rights in other parts of the world.

It will enable researchers across the globe to gain access to these high-quality research tools with greater ease.

Josef Zihlmann, vice-president for product management and research and development at Sigma-Aldrich's research markets division, said: "This agreement strengthens our longstanding relationship with ECACC and provides the scientific community with broader access to essential life science research tools."

Earlier this year, the company agreed a deal to distribute Olink Bioscience's Duolink In Situ products worldwide.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801571743-ADNFCR
