Sigma-Aldrich and Roche agree distribution deal for biochemical reagents

23rd March 2015

Sigma-Aldrich has agreed to distribute Roche's portfolio of biochemical reagent products via a new exclusive global agreement.

The deal will see Sigma-Aldrich using its sales, marketing and ecommerce expertise to present and distribute the product portfolio, which includes kits and enzymes for cellular analysis, proteomics and conventional polymerase chain reaction applications.

Transition of the Roche portfolio to Sigma-Aldrich is expected to take place later this year, with these products to continue to be available through existing Roche channels in the interim.

It is expected that this deal will take advantage of the industry-leading ecommerce and supply chain capabilities of Sigma-Aldrich, as well as the strength of its relationships with the scientific community.

Eric Green, executive vice-president and president of Sigma-Aldrich Research, said: "The addition of these life science tools supports our strategy to augment our portfolio with products that accelerate customer scientific research programmes."

The firm recently announced a record-breaking financial performance for the 2014 business year. It is in the process of being acquired by the multinational Merck KGaA group, a deal that will be completed this year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801780785-ADNFCR
