Simplyhealth highlights positive 2014 growth momentum

20th June 2014

Simplyhealth has underlined the positive business momentum accumulated during 2013, which it expects to continue as it moves into the second half of 2014.

The dental and health insurer, which appointed Romana Abdin as its chief executive last year, was able to achieve a profit of 8.7 million pounds in 2013, despite the relatively slow growth of the UK economy.

It now serves more than four million clients across the country and recently claimed the prestigious Institute of Customer Service award for customer commitment for the second straight year. It also completed its new centre of excellence for private medical insurance in Clifton Downs.

These developments – plus the ongoing success of its subsidiary Denplan – also helped the company donate 1.4 million pounds to health-related charitable and community projects in 2013.

Its philanthropic efforts have continued into 2014, with donations made to Moodswings, St Ann's Hospice and Sunshine and Smiles in the last month alone.

Ms Abdin said: "We are in a strong position to develop our offering for our customers into the future and, by using our unique values and sense of purpose, we can continue to differentiate ourselves from the market."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801729924-ADNFCR
