Simplyhealth launches new Denplan dental partnership model

Simplyhealth has announced that its subsidiary Denplan will be launching a new dental partnership funding programme, with an initial pilot scheme taking place soon.

The move will see Denplan strengthen its support, investment and involvement for individual dentists, with the pilot set to see the company purchase a 50 percent equity stake in five Denplan member practices.

Denplan will become an equal partner, with the dentist retaining full clinical management of the practice, with the acquired equity stake to be set up as a ring-fenced Denplan company.

This new organisation, Denplan Partnerships Limited, will operate separately from Denplan to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.

Steve Gates, the firm's managing director of wellbeing services, said: "We believe the new partnership funding programme is an exciting initiative for our member dentists, and they can be reassured that the practice and goodwill they have built up over the years will continue."

The Denplan business has been part of the Simplyhealth group since 2011 and now forms a key part of its dental insurance service offering.
