Simplyhealth to sell private medical insurance business to Axa PPP Healthcare

15th May 2015

Simplyhealth has announced the sale of its private medical insurance business and Simplyhealth Administration Services Limited unit to Axa PPP Healthcare.

This follows a strategic review of the group's activities, informed by a detailed 18-month analysis of the marketplace for healthcare services. This included a major customer insight project involving interviews with more than 5,000 people and 250 companies.

Following this, the company will focus on providing health funding solutions through its market leading cash plan and Denplan offerings, pursuing growth opportunities within its cash plan, dental and vet businesses.

It will also be investing in new areas of everyday health, such as the recent acquisition of Care and Mobility Limited, a mobility retail specialist in the West Midlands.

Romana Abdin, chief executive of Simplyhealth, said: "We are going to focus on everyday healthcare, where we see numerous growth opportunities in services to address the everyday things that stop our customers from making the most of life."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801787623-ADNFCR
