Sirona earns German Design Award recognition for inEos X5 scanner

12th November 2015

Sirona has announced that its inEos X5 laboratory scanner has earned recognition at the prestigious 2016 German Design Awards.

The device was given a special mention in the medical, rehabilitation and healthcare category at the awards, which recognise unique design trends and are presented to products that have already been honoured in another competition.

Sirona's inEos X5 was presented with a Red Dot Award and an iF Design Award in 2014, having met the highest quality standards for optical measuring systems and demonstrating its performance in dental labs all around the world.

It allows partial and whole jaw casts, impressions and textures to be digitalised quickly and easily, taking less than 60 seconds for whole jaw casts. Its five-axis scanner and robotic arm can be used flexibly, while its optics – based on digital stripe light projection – allows all situations to be digitalised with precision and sharpness.

The company said: "Receiving the German Design Award 2016 underscores Sirona's high standards for highly effective yet esthetically pleasing CAD/CAM solutions for dental labs."

Sirona recently announced a merger with Dentsply, which will result in the creation of the world's leading manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801805628-ADNFCR
