Sirona launches DAC Universal system for automatic instrument processing

11th July 2014

Sirona has announced the launch of DAC Universal, a new system for automatic instrument processing that provides workflow, time savings, validation and flexibility advantages.

The device is capable of cleaning, lubricating and sterilising turbines and straight and contra-angle handpieces automatically at the push of a button in just 16 minutes, providing clean, safe and fast operation.

Instruments can be used for the next treatment immediately after the cycle and a brief cooling-off period, and users can rest assured that DAC Universal is fully compliant with the requirements of national and EU hygiene guidelines.

It  can hold six turbines or straight or contra-angle handpieces at a time, or alternately five solid instruments – such as probes or curettes – can be placed into a special basket cover, available separately.

Dieter Rensch, head of product management for instruments at Sirona, said: "The DAC Universal fits perfectly into dental practice workflows and enables cost-effective, gentle processing of turbines and straight and contra-angle handpieces."

This comes after the company recently announced the release of the version 4.3 update for the software for CEREC, its CAD/CAM restoration system, updating the system with various new features.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801734908-ADNFCR
