Sirona launches new class of dental turbines

22nd March 2013

Sirona is launching a new generation of high-torque dental turbines this month in premium, comfort and economy classes.

The new turbines provide a number of advantages over established offerings, most notably their quiet performance, which ensures they will not make patients feel unduly uncomfortable, while dentists can also avoid hearing loss.

Additionally, the devices are significantly more powerful than previous products and are extremely comfortable to hold and use, with the various versions having been tailored to suit a range of requirements.

According to the manufacturer, the new products have an advantage over previous attempts to create quieter turbines, which focused exclusively on the rotor and ball bearings, rather than the noise caused by the spray.

Sirona's turbine product manager Frank Peichl said: "Sirona has now developed a new four-nozzle spray which distributes the mixture of air and water uniformly around the drill and which is much quieter when in operation. Dentists are guaranteed to notice the difference."

Earlier this month, the company also introduced a new attachable filter for the SIROInspect caries detection system to make it more effective and easy to use.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801561311-ADNFCR
