Sirona provides donation to African orphan care charity

26th June 2014

Sirona has announced the donation of nearly 100,000 rand (5,500 pounds) in dental equipment to support the activities of not-for-profit organisation Lungisisa Ndlela Village (LIV).

The charity, which provides residential foster cluster care for orphaned and vulnerable children in sub-Saharan Africa, will utilise the equipment to improve the oral health of youngsters at its newly-opened LIV Health Care Centre in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal.

Sirona's donation includes a C8 Plus dental chair, which offers benefits such as ergonomic and comfortable patient positioning, high-quality materials, an intuitive user interface and robust hygiene functions.

This will aid progress towards the ultimate goal of ensuring all South African children have the right to proper oral health, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Andy Cyprianos, Sirona's general manager in South Africa, said the donation "enables LIV Health Care Centre to provide the same standards of professional oral care that children receive in urban areas".

Last month, the company expanded its range of cost-effective products with the launch of Intego, an affordable new treatment centre that will be manufactured at its Bensheim site in Germany.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801731494-ADNFCR
