Smith and Nephew included in Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
Smith and Nephew has announced that it has once again been included in this year's Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DSJI).
This marks the 15th consecutive year that Smith and Nephew has been recognised for its sustainable operations with inclusion in the DJSI World and DJSI Europe indices, having made its first appearance in these lists in 2002 and 2001, respectively.
DJSI is recognised as a global benchmark for corporate responsibility and sustainability, with Smith and Nephew achieving industry-best perfect scores in the marketing strategy and environmental reporting categories.
It also scored highly in the climate strategy, occupational health and safety and social reporting categories, while overall 92 percent of its scores were above the industry average.
Olivier Bohuon, chief executive officer of Smith and Nephew, said: "We recognise that sustainability is part of who we are as an organisation – we cannot be successful without a core commitment to societal and environmental wellbeing."
