Smith and Nephew launches new e-learning tools

26th November 2013

Smith and Nephew has announced the launch of a new e-learning platform called Education and Evidence, which allows surgeons to access and share peer-to-peer educational resources.

Aimed at joint repair and replacement, extremities and trauma specialists, the member-based service hosts more than 1,000 videos, articles, surgical techniques, podcasts, training courses, tablet PC apps and iBooks, with more to be added gradually.

Features include an innovative search engine, self-profiling tools to tailor content to users and the ability to share resources with colleagues.

This will allow medical professionals around the world to find new ideas and working patterns, while lending their own expertise to help others.

Michael Frazzette, president of Smith and Nephew's advanced surgical devices division, said this will provide customers with "digital access to trusted, peer-to-peer educational resources at the most convenient time and on their device of choice".

Last week, the company helped to organise a number of events around the country to mark Worldwide Stop Pressure Ulcer Day, an event organised by the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801665249-ADNFCR
