Smoking Gun wins marketing brief for Innovation First’s Hexbug

Smoking Gun has won a new brief with US technology manufacturer Innovation First, focusing on the successful robotic toy brand Hexbug.

After winning a three-way competitive pitch, the agency has been tasked with helping the company launch four new major product lines ahead of Christmas 2012, with activity set to commence immediately.

It will include a mixture of digital marketing, consumer and trade media relations, experiential activity and celebrity seeding, with the aim of educating customers on the uniqueness of the Hexbug range.

In addition to launching a new version of Hexbug, the company will also be introducing an underwater mechanical fish called Aquabot and the Tagamoto miniature vehicle range.

Smoking Gun's managing director Rick Guttridge said: "We've had great success in marketing innovative consumer technology for a number of clients to date and this is another brand in that vein."
