SonoSite replaces chairman of the board

16th August 2010

SonoSite has announced that Dr Robert Hauser is being appointed non-executive chairman of the company's board of directors, following the retirement of Kirby Cramer from the role.

Mr Cramer stepped down from the position last week having served as an adviser to SonoSite since 1998, although he will continue to act as a director until the firm's 2011 annual meeting of shareholders.

With the appointment of Dr Hauser, the company is promoting a recognised medical expert who has been a member of the board since 2004, having previously served as president and chief executive officer.

In addition to this announcement, SonoSite confirmed that it will be adopting a reduced structure for its board, cutting the number of independent members from nine to seven.

Carmen Diersen, the company's corporate governance committee chair, said: "The cumulative effect of these changes will result in a more streamlined and cost effective structure that will continue to support SonoSite's corporate governance and strategic oversight responsibilities."

Last month, SonoSite published its second quarter financial report, highlighting an 18 per cent year-on-year growth in revenue.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800026043-ADNFCR
