Sony announces reorganisation of UK PR activities and structure

5th August 2014

Tech giant Sony has announced a major reshuffling of its UK and European PR organisational structure as part of global efforts to streamline its business for further growth.

The electronics division of the Japanese company has merged its UK and Ireland and European PR teams, both of which were based at its headquarters in Weybridge in the south-west of London.

Meanwhile, its UK press office duties have been moved from Consolidated PR to Hope and Glory. These two agencies and fellow PR firm Margaret had previously been hired by Sony in August 2013.

Brands2Life and Marlin PR's relationships with Sony remain unaffected by the change, which will help to consolidate some of the tech firm's marketing activities.

Sony UK head of PR Lucie Speciale said: "It made sense to move the press office into one of our campaign agencies to offer something more holistic, and Hope and Glory had the best setup to take that on board."

The company has endured difficult trading conditions over the last three years, but saw a better-than-expected profit performance in the three months ending on June 30th 2014, thanks to the strong results of its gaming and movie divisions.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801740006-ADNFCR
