Source BioScience highlights strong first-half performance in 2015
Source BioScience has announced its financial results for the first six months of 2015, during which it delivered a revenue total of 12.8 million pounds.
This was roughly level with its performance in the first half of last year, with operating profit increasing by 15 percent to 1.6 million pounds and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation up by 13 percent to 2.7 million pounds.
During the six months, the firm launched its non-invasive prenatal testing service, saw continued growth of its sexually-transmitted infectious disease testing service, and commissioned state-of-the-art serology and blood banking products manufacturing facilities at its Rochdale site.
Since the completion of the first half, the company has bolstered its capabilities further with the acquisition of Select Pharma Laboratories.
Laurie Turnbull, chairman of Source BioScience, said: "We are experiencing a positive response to the expanded offering of the group and we are pleased with the performance to date which is in line with our expectations for the full year."
The company also announced this week that Tim Jackson-Smith will join its board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
