Source BioScience to supply Research Councils UK

Source BioScience has won a contract to supply Research Councils UK with DNA sequencing services.

Following a competitive tender, Source BioScience will become a preferred supplier to the organisation for the next two years, with an option to extend the partnership for a further three.

It represents an expansion of a previously renewed agreement with the Medical Research Council and will ensure that Source BioScience DNA sequencing will be available in all Research Councils UK laboratories.

Source BioScience will be providing the services via its facilities in Oxford, Cambridge, London, Nottingham and Dublin and expects to generate 500,000 pounds a year from the agreement.

Dr Nick Ash, chief executive officer of Source BioScience, said: "Winning this tender is a real vote of confidence in Source BioScience's DNA sequencing services by the leading national research bodies in the UK."

This comes after the company acquired the German molecular products and services supplier imaGenes earlier this month.
