Sphere Medical’s Proxima system adds Philips IntelliVue compatibility
Sphere Medical has announced that its Proxima bedside blood gas monitoring system has been augmented with compatibility with Philips' IntelliVue patient monitoring systems.
Enabled by the Philips IntelliBridge Interface Module, the addition of this compatibility means Proxima results can be recorded and displayed alongside other critical monitoring information, such as blood pressure, ECG, EEG, respiratory rate, cardiac output and temperature.
This will give users a more comprehensive overview to enhance patient management standards, as well as a simple means of integrating data into electronic medical record systems.
Wolfgang Rencken, chief executive officer of Sphere Medical, said: "Many of our customers use Philips monitoring and data management systems and this connectivity further helps the practical implementation of Proxima as an acute respiratory and metabolic monitoring device in critical care settings."
This addition further expands the range of benefits offered by Sphere Medical's Proxima acute respiratory and metabolic monitoring system, which is used in critical care settings to enable rapid and frequent blood gas, glucose and electrolyte measurements.
It can be used directly at the bedside without the caregiver leaving the patient, and is always connected to the patient via their arterial line.
