Steris chooses Sonitor technology for RealView software

Steris has announced that Sonitor Technologies will be providing real-time location system (RTLS) innovations for use in its product range.

The companies have signed a non-exclusive agreement that assigns Sonitor Technologies as a selected RTLS supplier for Steris RealView Visual Workflow Management Software, which is used in the enhancement of perioperative care pathways.

By integrating Sonitor tag sensors with Steris analytics, reporting and alerts, clinicians will be given access to critical outputs such as the workflow and location of patients and supporting equipment, while any delays or exceptions in the schedule will be immediately flagged up.

Randy Tomaszewski, director of marketing for perioperative solutions for Steris, said: "The RealView Visual Workflow Management Software provides hospital leaders with real-time, enterprise-wide visibility and dashboard performance analytics, within and throughout their hospitals."

In October 2012, the company expanded its business capabilities with the acquisitions of Spectrum Surgical Instruments and Total Repair Express, two US-based providers of surgical instrument repair services and instrument care products.
