Stryker progresses towards goals during third quarter of 2015
Stryker has expressed satisfaction with its financial performance for the third quarter of 2015, during which it delivered a net sales total of $2.4 billion (1.59 billion pounds).
This represented a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent, or 5.9 percent on a constant currency basis, with all three of its main divisions – orthopaedics, MedSurg, and neurotechnology and spine – all seeing improvements.
The neurotechnology and spine business experienced the most pronounced growth, while the orthopaedics division remained the single biggest earner. Meanwhile, the company's reported net earnings of $301 million increased 428.1 percent during the quarter.
Stryker remains on track to meet its full-year target of achieving constant currency sales growth in the range of 6.5 percent to 7.5 percent for 2015.
Kevin Lobo, chairman and chief executive officer of Stryker, said: "I am pleased with our disciplined execution as we work with our customers to make healthcare better."
The firm was named as the 19th best US-based company to work for in an annual list compiled by Fortune magazine earlier this year.
