Stryker reports strong business performance in 2013

30th January 2014

Stryker has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year periods of 2013, during which it was able to achieve strong growth.

The company's net sales for the final three months of 2013 grew by 5.6 percent year on year to $2.5 billion (1.52 billion pounds), with its reconstructive, MedSurg and neurotechnology and spine units all showing improved performances.

For the full year, the firm's net sales rose by 4.2 percent annually to $9.0 billion, while organic sales growth in 2014 is expected to be in the range of 4.5 to 6.0 percent.

Kevin Lobo, president and chief executive officer of Stryker, said: "We are pleased with our organic sales growth and operational earnings achieved in 2013. With our broad-based product portfolio and commitment to innovation and globalisation, we are well positioned to build on this momentum."

This comes after the organisation was ranked 42nd in Fortune Magazine's annual list of the 100 best US-based companies for which to work earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801688246-ADNFCR
