SureFlap launches new SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder

SureFlap has announced the launch of its new SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder, the first offering from an innovative line of pet feeders.

The device is activated when an authorised pet is identified by its microchip or RFID collar tag, sliding open automatically when approached by the animal and closing when the pet has finished feeding.

It can be used to ensure that animals eat from their own bowl, making it ideal for those on prescription diets, medication or a weight management programme. It can also stop other pets from stealing food.

Other benefits of the feeder include its unique integrated seal to help keep food fresher for longer, while preventing the house from being affected by odours, flies and insects.

This comes after the firm recently issued a report showing that 87 per cent of people with more than one cat have reported their pets regularly eat each other's food.
