Takeda named among world’s most sustainable corporations

28th January 2016

Takeda has been evaluated by Corporate Knights magazine as one of the 100 most sustainable companies globally.

The firm was included in the publication's 2016 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index, based on an evaluation of 12 key performance indicators, including carbon productivity, innovation capacity, safety performance and leadership diversity.

This recognises the progress Takeda has made in its corporate responsibility efforts, including on an overall sustainability plan, and its efforts to promote ethical business practices.

It also strives to adhere to internationally recognised guidelines such as the UN Global Compact's Ten Principles, and long-term international targets such as the Sustainable Development Goals.

Haruhiko Hirate, corporate communications and public affairs officer, said: "We continuously evaluate our sustainability efforts and remain committed to responsibly developing innovative medicines and promoting progress through research for better health and a brighter future."

This comes after the firm was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index and FTSE4Good Global Index last year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801811225-ADNFCR
