Takeda names new UK digital leader

1st November 2016

Takeda has announced the appointment of experienced pharmaceutical global digital communications lead Marc Weeks to a new role within its UK business.

In his newly-established digital lead role, Mr Weeks will be tasked with advancing the company's knowledge and capabilities in terms of the provision of digital solutions, with the aim of driving projects that become globally recognised in the area of digital innovation.

He will work across the entire UK and Ireland business, liaising with and upskilling all members of the Takeda team, to aid the company's objective of becoming an agile speciality care provider.

With the aim of establishing itself as a digital health leader by 2025, Takeda is not only establishing mobile apps and websites, but also creating partnerships with external technology ventures across a wide range of business areas.

Mr Weeks can offer more than ten years of experience in digital communications to aid this work. He started his career at Heathrow Airport's comms department during the building of Terminal 5, before going on to work at Shire Pharmaceuticals for more than eight years.

Kruti Popat, business intelligence director at Takeda UK, said: "Marc will fill a knowledge gap at Takeda UK that is instrumental to the company achieving its aim of providing better health and a brighter future through innovation."
