Takeda recognised among 100 most sustainable corporations worldwide
Takeda has been included in the 2017 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index, compiled by Corporate Knights.
The company was listed in the index for the second consecutive year, having performed strongly on 14 key metrics, including energy productivity, innovation capacity, safety performance and leadership diversity.
Inclusion in the Global 100 Index is indicative of the progress Takeda has made in its corporate responsibility efforts and sustainability planning in recent years, and the strength of its efforts to meet global best practice standards.
These include internationally recognised guidelines such as the UN Global Compact's ten principles, and long-term international targets like the Sustainable Development Goals.
Haruhiko Hirate, corporate communications and public affairs officer for Takeda, said: "While we continuously strive to improve our business processes, we are also proud to engage in activities that promote a sustainable society and reflect our commitment to being a good corporate citizen."
The company has operations in more than 70 countries and employs over 30,000 people worldwide.
