Takeda’s Millennium named MMRF’s collaborator of the year

28th January 2013

Takeda's oncology-focused US subsidiary has been selected for a prestigious award from the  Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) for its commitment to cancer research.

The firm has been named as the winner of the MMRF's inaugural collaborator of the year award, recognising Millennium for its efforts to advance the research and development of more effective treatments for multiple myeloma.

Specifically, the company earned praise for its support of the MMRF's groundbreaking CoMMpass trial, which helped the study to maintain its momentum during the initial startup phase.

In total, Millennium helped the MMRF to launch four trials in 2012 and has assisted with 22 studies overall.

Dr Deborah Dunsire, president and chief executive officer of Millennium, said: "We are very proud to be partners with the MMRF and extend our gratitude for this award and for the MMRF's commitment to patients with multiple myeloma."

Millennium has been part of the Takeda group since 2008 and is responsible for marketing Velcade, a leading therapy for multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801529459-ADNFCR
