Tecan launches new Spark-Stack integrated microplate stacker

Tecan has announced the launch of its new Spark-Stack integrated microplate stacker, the latest add-on for its Spark multimode reader.

This versatile and field-upgradeable module is designed to reliably automate plate loading, unloading and re-stacking for non-lidded SLAS-format microplates from six to 1,536 wells, allowing users to benefit from walkaway processing of up to 50 assay plates per run.

Designed for use with assays requiring room temperature pre-incubation steps, Spark-Stack comes equipped with removable dark covers to protect light sensitive assays, such as the AlphaLISA, AlphaScreen, AlphaPlex and GFP-transfected cells.

Additionally, the company has introduced software updates for both the SparkControl and SparkControl Magellan systems in order to facilitate seamless operation of the Spark-Stack module.

Tecan said this will help "to streamline laboratory workflows and allowing overnight running for greater productivity".

Spark-Stack has been statistically tested to ensure reliable operation for more than 100,000 plate transfers in drug discovery and life sciences research, as well as offering remote status monitoring via iPhone or CNS web server.
