Tecan reports record results for first half of 2015
Tecan has announced its financial results for the first six months of 2015, during which it delivered a record-breaking performance.
The company's order entry total increased by 14.6 percent year-on-year in local currencies to 220.1 million Swiss francs (145.59 million pounds), with sales climbing by 18.9 percent and net profit surging 39.7 percent to a new record of 26 million francs.
Its strong growth was attributed to the launch of major new products in both business segments and the successful integration of IBL International, which was acquired by Tecan last year.
The firm launched important products in two main product lines – the second application-specific Fluent solution in liquid handling, as well as its next-generation reader platform, Spark 10M.
Feedback from customers has been shown to be highly positive for both instruments, with follow-up orders for Fluent having already been received.
David Martyr, Tecan's chief executive officer, said: "We are pleased by the smooth integration and the successful development of the business, which has managed to exceed our expectations. The level of collaboration with our new colleagues is also very encouraging."
