Teva highlights recent support for Responsible Business Week
Teva UK has hailed the positive contributions its staff made to their local communities during this year's Responsible Business Week.
Employees at the company's Castleford and Eastbourne sites got heavily involved in the initiative, which took place from March 31st to April 5th this year and saw staff members picking up litter, donating supplies to food banks and providing books to hospitals and charities.
The week also gave the firm an opportunity to encourage all employees to think about what it means to be a responsible business.
Responsible Business Week is run by Business in the Community (BITC), an organisation that works between businesses and society to promote fairness and sustainability. Teva UK has been a member of the body since October 2013.
Richard Daniell, the company's managing director, said: "Being a responsible business is more than a token gesture, it has long-term implications for sustainability and society and – in my view – has to be at the core of everything we do."
This comes after the firm was given a Silver Quality Mark from the British government via the Workplace Giving UK programme at the end of last year.
